Canobie Lake Park

Yesterday all three of the All-City musical groups went to Canobie lake park for to do our last performance of the year and to reward all of us for our hard work throughout the year. The groups are Chorus, Orchestra and Band. I am in All-city Orchestra and Chorus. At Canobie there is a performance hall, and I was extremely relieved to know that it was air conditioned. We performed then 3 educators came up and told us what we were doing well and what we should do to make it so that the pieces that we were performing sounded the best that they could.

We left the hall at about 1:00 in the afternoon and then continued to go on as many rides as we could in the two and a half hours that we had to walk around and see everything. I was in a group with many of my friends: Ezra, Lucy, William, Boris, Terrence and Andrew, as well as the chaperone who was Jen capuano, William’s mother.

Today was the first time that Terrence ad ever been on a roller coaster, but he went on every singly ride that he could, not wanting to miss out on anything. For the most part everyone came on the rides although, Ezra, and Andrew went on none, despite our many attempts to persuade them otherwise, as well as william saying that he was getting tired at the very last half hour.

We went on as many rides as we could and saw many other people from our school along the way. During the last half an hour we went on a particularly wet ride called the boston tea party about five times, as the line was almost non existent and we could just run through the lines and get soaked along the way by the enormous wall of water that occurred when the ride went down a slide and into the water.

During the last ten or so minutes many of the people in our group wanted to go back and meet up with the rest of our school because we were told not to be late, however I managed to pull them around to my side of thinking and persuaded them to stay and go on it as many more times as we could.  I was helped by the musical director because if he was going on the ride again, then we would surely be allowed to as well.

When we arrived back in somerville, the bus dropped us off at the high school where I was very nicely given a ride by Jen Capuano back to my house. As soon as I stepped through the doorway I was hit with the most wonderful wall of cold air after the oven like outside temperature reaching nearly 100 degrees.

  1. As a devoted follower of your life, I am very pleased to get the details of your day at Canobie Lake - I didn't know that it was a musically-oriented activity combined with the fun of the rides. Love the specifics in this description - how you persuaded friends to take one more ride, how adamant both Ez and Andrew were not to go on rides. We're all different, aren't we?
