From Mont Saint-Michel to Tours

Leaving Mont Saint-Michel early in the morning to get to the next stop on our trip, Tours.
We walked across the bridge and causeway that connect Mont Saint-Michel to the mainland during high tide.

Low tide at Mont Saint-Michel as we walk across the bridge to the visitor center.

We took a bus from Mont Saint-Michel to Rennes, we ate lunch at a local bistro, then took a taxi to our hotel in Tours

  1. Charlie, I'm impressed that Baba and you were able to cover so much ground in one day. As were many of your readers, I'm sure, I was curious to find out whether a sightseeing company in Tours might be called Tours Tours. It would not be. The French word 'tour' means 'tower,' so Tours tours would mean 'Tours' towers.' A sightseeing company in Tours might be called Tours des tournees. On a similar subject, I figured out the other day that a young Mynah bird is a Mynah minor, but an insignificant Mynah bird is a minor Mynah. An army novel published in the sixties, 'Catch 22,' had a character named Major whose rank was major. So he was Major Major. It's all very minor. Or Mynah.
